Today marked my first day back at school after a never-been-heard-before 2-week Spring Break. I flew home to California for the break – which didn’t bode well for my skin but it felt really good to be home, considering the next time I’ll be going home is sometime in August. It started off pretty bumpy (found out my flight was canceled after I arrived at the airport and had already paid for the 65$ shuttle ride) but I was so thankful to have gotten home eventually, to see friends and to shop!

First off, I got myself some new clothes – mainly because realized I wanted a few more “sophisticated” looking pieces. I just got a part-time job in an office so I figured I needed to dress in more than just jeans and t-shirts.

Crossroads Trading Co. Haul

I purchased these items from Crossroads, a chain thrift store in California (might be in other states too). From the left to right:
1. Navy blue cardigan (Forever21) – $7.50
2. Navy blue striped vest – $10
3. Khaki long-sleeve button up – $8.50
4. Over-sized dark gray sweater – $10 (I lied, this was actually from H&M!)

Marshall's & Old Navy Haul

From the left to right:
1. Sheer loose white top – $5 from Old Navy
2. Calvin Klein pants – $20 from Marshall’s

Cardigans

I actually didn’t buy these, my mom bought them for me as a birthday gift. From left to right:
1. Gray cashmere cardigan
2. Brown cashmere long-sleeved shirt
3. Dark gray cardigan
My mom’s really into this cashmere thing because she’s convinced it’s the only thing that can keep me warm on the East Coast. She buys these either at Marshall’s or Ross on sale though, so each piece is generally only about $20 or less.

Coach Wristlet

This is the first Coach item I’ve ever owned and the first Coach item that I’ve ever bought for myself. I bought this at a Coach outlet store for $19.

I also bought a ton of new shoes, something I rarely ever do because it’s really hard to buy shoes that fit. I have pretty wide feet and my feet are different sizes. My left foot is a size 6 – 6.5 while my right foot is a 6.5 – 7.

Shoes

From left to right:
1. New Balance Tone Up running shoes – $20 at Marshall’s
2. Flip flops – $1.50 @ Old Navy

Shoes

From left to right:
1. Blue high tops – $14.95 at H&M
2. Army print converse sneakers – $15 at FamousFootwear

Shoes

I also got these at FamousFootwear for $20. They are sort of too big for my left foot but are very comfortable. The heel isn’t very high, maybe 1 – 1.5 inches. I figured these would be nice to have if I ever need to dress super nice for work or if I ever have a formal interview, etc.

That’s all for now!

This will be a pretty long post, I’ll be doing an itemized review of the clothes that I purchased in my recent Yesstyle haul. Everyone who wants to order from Yesstyle wants to know the same thing: How are the clothes in real life compared to the ones you see in the pictures? Because we all know that they have this crazy ability to make their clothing look amazing – with the help of ridiculously tiny Asian models that could make a toilet look cute.

In this review, keep in mind that my body shape isn’t exactly the stereotypical body type found commonly in Asia. As a reference, I’m 5′ 4″ and weigh 125-130lbs. Not calling myself fat but I do have some chub on me.

Brand: 59 Seconds
Item: Chain-Trim Miniskirt
59 Seconds Chain-Trim Miniskirt
Review: The quality of this skirt was actually pretty good, the material was thick and heavy. Sadly, it was too small for me so I couldn’t wear it – sorry Asia, I have an ass. Most clothes on Yesstyle only come in “one size”, so unless you weigh 90lbs, things just won’t fit as nicely or look as cute on you. I’m going to hold onto this skirt to motivate myself to go on a diet and workout more, since as of today, I am doing neither of the above.

Brand: 59 Seconds
Item: Stripe-Ribbing Knit Top
59 Seconds Stripe-Ribbing Knit Top
Review: Again, pretty good quality – the sweater was actually pretty thick and the material sturdy. The sleeves were a bit shorter on me than expected. I generally like my sweater sleeves to pull over my hands but these fell just short of that. I really liked this though; I’m sure I’d like it tons more once I shed my summer junk-food fat.

Brand: PUFFY
Item: Zip Jacket
PUFFY Zip Jacket
Review: From the picture, the jacket is pretty shiny and wears similarly to how it does in the picture from the website. HOWEVER, I wouldn’t really call this a jacket. The material is super thin, I’ve had t-shirts and cardigans that have been thicker. Kind of reminds me of a cloth-like trash bag. In the image above, you can very clearly see my hand behind it — nothing labeled as a jacket should do that.

Brand: PUFFY
Item: Hooded Pattern Cropped Jacket

Review: Similar to the previous “jacket”, very thin material. It looks the same as in the picture though, so other than the thinness…not much of an issue.

Brand: ZOO
Item: Long-Sleeve T-Shirt with Scarf
ZOO Long-Sleeve T-Shirt with Scarf
Review: Material was decent, very basic but definitely better than the thin material you might find at Forever21, etc. Only issue is that the sleeves and shirt-length were shorter than shown in the image. Fitted somewhat like a crop top but it isn’t so short that it’s an issue.

Brand: ageha@shibuya
Item: Open-Front Vest
ageha@shibuya Open-Front Vest
Review: My favorite item out of the entire order. Material and quality was great – a lot better than brands such as Forever21, Love Culture, Wet Seal, etc. Fit was great and everything matched the picture perfectly! Love it!

Brand: CLICK
Item: Tied-Waist Puff-Sleeve Striped Blouse
CLICK Tied-Waist Puff-Sleeve Striped Blouse
Review: My second favorite item from the entire order. The blouse itself was kind of scratchy but nothing too bothersome. It fitted as shown in the image – although I did notice how much more my arms filled up the sleeves than the model. My own fault for having arm muscles/fat.

Overall, brands that I would currently trust buying from are 59 Seconds and ageha@shibuya. I definitely wouldn’t ever want to buy from PUFFY again, no matter how cute they make their clothes look. The quality of it was pretty sad.

Hope this was helpful for all of you intending to purchase from Yesstyle!

My package from Yesstyle recently came! This is only the second time that I have ordered from Yesstyle and it is my first time ordering clothes.

Yesstyle order

Yesstyle Review: Personally, I’m a little half-and-half about ordering clothing from Yesstyle.com – if anything because it is coming all the way from Hong Kong. I always worry a lot about my packages getting lost in the mail, since that seems to happen a lot to me. Standard shipping doesn’t provide a tracking number, while I’m assuming express shipping generally does. For this order, I bought clothes that all were readily available (says ships within 1-2 days on the website) and my package arrived 4 days after the shipping date. They give you a 3-5 day time frame on the website, so I was relieved to see that their delivery estimates are pretty accurate.

From what I know, if you order clothes that are not readily available – it means that Yesstyle must request them from the manufacturer before it is sent to you. My first order with them took about 2 weeks to even get shipped to me! Once it was shipped however, I received my package in 2 days (as I had a free ugprade to express shipping). Others have noted that it may sometimes even take 3-4 weeks for their items to get shipped, so you just need to be aware of how “readily available” the item you want is.

In terms of payment, it is pretty standard – there are all the normal options for payment. The good thing is that you are not charged until your items are shipped. If it is your first time ordering however, they might take extra time in verifying your credit card before your order is processed. This took about 3 days for me during my first order.

In terms of their service, I did contact customer service through email to check up on things and I always received a reply within 2 days. A downside is that the phone numbers they provide do not seem to work – at least when I called, which can be a little unnerving.

It’s a bit of a guessing game about the quality of the clothing that you order. I’ll be doing a review of the clothes in a separate post (before this gets too long) but my only advice right now is to do your research about the brands before you purchase!

All in all, I generally feel like it might be better to just order or buy from clothing sites such as Forever21, Love Culture, ASOS, etc. since they are generally similarly priced with more predictable clothing quality.

Another great thing I did enjoy about ordering from Yesstyle is that there are always sales and promotions that you can use! As of right now, these Yesstyle promo codes can get you $5 off your order, regardless of your location: TWITTER5 or FACEBOOK5. There are also some that are location specific (ie: shipping to UK, Australia, etc). The first time I ordered, I received a free upgrade to express shipping and this second time, all of the clothes I purchased were under $10. I also got $5 off using the codes listed above and scored free shipping.
